2 coincidences

Both of these are from 2 weeks ago but we had some web issues so we are backtracking a bit

First, we had two new stores pick us up:
Hinton Liquor Store 125 JASPER Street, Hinton
&
Wines & Spirits Warehouse 11452 JASPER Ave, Edmonton
Thanks so much to all involved for picking up the line. Did you notice... two new stores... both on Jasper.... (ok not a super coincidence but kind of neat)

Second
While visiting the Reynolds Alberta Museum (http://www.machinemuseum.net/) to see the history of the motorcycle we stumbled upon this photo, sort of the centerpeice for the exibit.

Now look at this one. One of ours that was earmarked for use on phase 2 of the website...

Judging by the men in the picture (the Edmonton Motorcycle club in 1929) these picture were taken just seconds apart...

That's a coincidence...

In the Media

Apparently we appeared in this month's City Palate magazine in Edmonton. Can anyone send us a scan?

Any help would be appreciated.
Tasting at the SHAW Center in Downtown Edmonton

We had a tasting last week with a one hour window. there were over 1700 people there. We served over 250 samples in that time, then we cleaned up and joined in the dinner.

All we can say is wow. If you ever get a chance to take part in the "FEASTival of Fine Chefs" it is one of the most amazing culinery experiences you will be able to take part in (whoops, ended that sentence in a preposition).

So go here http://www.afpa.com/pro/feast.shtml and have alook around.

The AFPA sure knows how to throw a party.
What a crazy last few weeks it has been

We have been developing a number of new flavours and are actively seeking "tasters". If you are interested just email us at jim@ambersbrewing.com...

One nevers knows where such things will lead.

2006, August a new discovery

An alert reader spotted this interesting image from the Yalta Summit.

He used some kind of advanced algorithm to deduce which of our two flavours the gentleman was drinking and apparently it was our Honey Brown.

You can't argue with history.

2006, June 17th: The Valley Zoo’s “On Safari” and "ART in the WILD" Fund Raisers

Today we sponsored the Beer for The Valley Zoo’s “On Safari” Fund Raiser. It went very, very well and we look forward to the next fundraiser “Art in the wild” on July 14th. See the website (http://www.buildingthevalleyzoo.com/events.html) for more information.

LIQUOR SELECT ON 149 STREET

Well, on July 15th we were lucky enough to be allowed to offer samples at Liquor Select (8924-149 Street) for their annual Summer Barbeque. We had aprime position and everyone was great.

It was great being number one in line, but we went through just over 200 glasses...

The feedback was positive and I hope we get to do the same thing next year.

Special thanks to Stacey-Jo and Tony - give them a call or look them up: http://www.liquorselect.com/

Well the Oilers lost game seven and are going home empty handed. To top off the misery we have to send some of our craft brews to the folks in Raleigh Durham. At least we get to send our Australian Mountain Pepper Berry and our Honey Brown as part of the Edmonton Six Pack. We will follow up with more information as it becomes available. The Press release simply stated:

Mayor Mandel Honors Stanley Cup Finals Wager

Edmonton , June 22, 2006 – Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel has honoured his wager with Raleigh, North Carolina Mayor Charles Meeker, after the Carolina Hurricanes edged out the Edmonton Oilers in a hard fought seven-game Stanley Cup Finals series. Under the terms of the friendly wager, Mayor Mandel has sent beer from three Edmonton micro-breweries - Alley Kat, Maverick and Amber's - off to the North Carolina Capital.

Although disappointed with the loss in such close series, Mayor Mandel commented "As a city we are extremely proud of the character and never-quit attitude displayed by our Oilers. I congratulate the team on their outstanding playoff run that ignited Canada's hockey passion, and further extend my congratulations to the Carolina Hurricanes on their Stanley Cup victory."

"Although I hope Mayor Meeker enjoys sampling our finest local beer, I look forward to trying Raleigh's best at this time in 2007."
